The Iverson Group was founded by MaryLou Iverson, an internationally respected playground safety and risk management consultant. Over the course of her career, MaryLou has been Director of Parks and Recreation for cities and special districts in Oklahoma, Colorado and Washington. She serves on the Board of the National Recreation and Park Association's (NRPA) Park Planning and Resource Management School.
MaryLou is also a board member and instructor of the NRPA National Playground Safety Institute, and serves on the Board of the National Playground Contractors Association International (NPCAI) where she also serves as an instructor in the Playground Construction School.
She is an active member on several American Society of Testing and Materials International (ASTMI) Committees for Playgrounds and Amusements, and developed and taught a Play Area Training Course for Amusement Industry Maintenance and Safety International (AIMS).
