The Iverson Group was founded by MaryLou Iverson, an internationally respected playground safety and risk management consultant. Over the course of her career, MaryLou has been Director of Parks and Recreation for cities and special districts in Oklahoma, Colorado and with North Kitsap Parks and Recreation Department.

She serves on the Board of the National Recreation and Park Association's (NRPA) Park Planning and Maintenance Committee, and was a founding member of the Resource School. MaryLou is also a board member and instructor of the NRPA National Playground Safety Institute, and serves on the Board of the National Playground Contractors Association International (NPCAI) where she also serves as an instructor in the Installation School. She is an active member on several American Society of Testing and Materials International (ASTMI) Committees for Playgrounds and Amusements, and has developed and teaches a Play Area Training Course for Amusement Industry Maintenance and Safety International (AIMS).

Tom Peeples has over 30 years experience in the parks & recreation industry. He is an active member on several American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) playground committees, and serves on the National Recreation and Park Association Certified Playground Safety Inspector Exam Development Committee.

Tom has been in charge of creating, developing, managing, and implementing park and playground safety inspection and maintenance programs, including the establishment and implementation of comprehensive park and playground safety audit checklists, which have received national recognition.Tom is experienced in working with contractors, installers and manufacturers. He has extensive experience in graffiti removal and mitigation, park and playground informational and regulatory signage, installation, skate park inspection and maintenance, and has assisted with planning and design of playgrounds and play areas.
